MESSAGE FROM 3GIFT2U TO ASSIST WITH RESOURCES
(Please attempt to hear from the resources listed below prior to requesting additional resources. Additional may be available if needed.)
1. Homeless Housing Hotline – (804) 972-0813
All individuals experiencing homelessness should call the Homeless Hotline.
- If there is no answer, leave a message. Someone generally returns calls within 24 hours.
*In regard to families and individuals being homeless: 1) Call the hotline immediately. 2) Call (804) 309-7151 for further assistance. Note: Medicaid does not regard living in a hotel as homeless).
-If in need of Utility financial assistance, message should include: name, phone number, services required and residence with zip and county.
-If help with an eviction is required, include: name, phone, county, zip, service required, court date, amount needed and when it is due. Also include the county. Ask for a referral to ACTS and other community referrals.
2. Richmond City Office of Homeless Resource Services (Richmond Resource Center) – (804) 646-3111
- Generally, someone answers the phone and calls are returned in a timely manner. If leaving a message Include: phone number, services required, county and zip. Also, if they cannot help ask them for a referral to ACTS or other community referrals.
3. Bon Air Baptist Church – (804) 237-7879
Bon Air offers a Community Needs Ministry that provides financial assistance for bills such as electric, gas, and water to Richmond and Chesterfield residents. They only accept phone calls on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Phone calls for services will not be answered any other days. Their services are based on a 1st come 1st served basis. Therefore, get your calls in
early. Also, only messages can be left. However, they will return your phone the next day based on your number in the que. Important: They return phone calls from “Private”. If you require services please answer your phone as it may be them attempting to help you. In addition, if they are not able to assist, please ask for a referral to ACTS and other community resource referrals. Services include a Food Pantry.
4. Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority – (804) 780-4200
Ask for referral to ACTS or other agencies for assistance.
5. Social Services
Homeless families should immediately contact the Homeless Hotline

Also, if any of these organizations has been of assistance, please drop us a line sharing what resource and amount. (ex. I was placed in a hotel for 2 weeks). This helps us to close out our files and better serve others.
